System State?
In Backup, a collection of system-specific data that can be backed up and restored. For all Windows?2000 operating systems, the System State data includes the registry, the COM+ Class Registration database, and the system boot files. For Windows?2000 Server, the System State data also includes the Certificate Services database (if the server is operating as a certificate server). If the server is a domain controller, the System State data also includes Active Directory directory services database and the SYSVOL directory.
SYSVOL Directory
A shared directory that stores the server copy of the domain's public files, which are replicated among all domain controllers in the domain.
Active Directory??
The directory service included with Windows?2000 Server. It stores information about objects on a network and makes this information available to users and network administrators. Active Directory gives network users access to permitted resources anywhere on the network using a single logon process. It provides network administrators with an intuitive hierarchical view of the network and a single point of administration for all network objects.
